Welcome to the American Planning Association - New Jersey Chapter Submission Portal.


Great Places in New Jersey, the flagship program of the American Planning Association - NJ Chapter, celebrates downtowns, streets, neighborhoods and public spaces of exemplary character, quality and planning. These places represent the gold standard in terms of having a true sense of place, cultural and historical interest, community involvement and a vision for tomorrow. They help their communities enjoy relative prosperity and a good quality of life. 


Nomination Requirements

Entry guidelines and criteria, including a checklist of required elements, are available here a downloadable Word document.  Please review these guidelines first as you prepare your nomination.  You will also be asked to provide a list of partners (those who were instrumental in process of making the "Great Place" - i.e. elected and appointed officials, professional staff, consulting firms, residents, advocacy groups, etc.).  These individuals are worthy of being recognized if your nomination meets the criteria of a "Great Place".   You can download a blank formatted Excel spreadsheet here.


All entries must be submitted via the entry form below.  You will be asked to setup an account.  You may pause your submission at any time and resume it later.
